VRFA Blotter: Kitchen fire, fall from monkey bars, bicycle accident, seizure & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Sept. 8–Sept. 14, 2025:

  • Minor Fire (Lakeland Hills): On Monday, September 8th at 11:01 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a kitchen fire caused by food on the stove. Firefighters arrived at a small two-story house with smoke showing from the open front door and smoke alarms sounding. Crews entered the home, confirmed the fire was out, used thermal imaging cameras to check for extension, and ventilated smoke with positive pressure fans. Thanks to the quick actions of the homeowner, the fire was contained to the stove area and nearby cabinets. The cause is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Tuesday, September 9th at 10:12 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male complaining of lethargy and an infection. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene, and he was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Wednesday, September 10th at 10:45 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a juvenile male who suffered an arm injury after falling from the monkey bars. Firefighters applied a vacuum splint and sling before the patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by TriMed for further care.
  • Aid Call (Algona): On Thursday, September 11th at 7:02 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing bradycardia and dizziness. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient on scene before he was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by paramedics.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Friday, September 12th at 9:39 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing a rapid heart rate. Firefighters evaluated the patient, and she was transported to St. Francis Hospital by private ambulance for further care.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Saturday, September 13th at 6:19 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a teenage male injured in a bicycle accident. The patient sustained multiple injuries while attempting a jump. He was evaluated and treated by firefighters before being transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by Aid 332.
  • Aid Call (Auburn): On Sunday, September 14th at 10:07 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who was unresponsive following a seizure. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics assessed the patient, provided CPR on scene, and transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for continued care.
