Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Feb. 3–Feb. 9, 2025:
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, February 3rd at 11:18 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a 1-year-old experiencing a diabetic emergency. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient, who was then transported by private ambulance to a local emergency room for further care.
- Aid Call: (Pacific) On Tuesday, February 4th at 7:42 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an elderly male who had briefly lost consciousness at home. Firefighters evaluated the patient, who was then transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
- Elevator Rescue: (Auburn) On Wednesday, February 5th at 6:55 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to three people trapped in an elevator stuck between the second and third floors. After elevator recall attempts were unsuccessful, firefighters used specialized tools to open the door and safely assist all three occupants out. No injuries were reported.
- Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Thursday, February 6th at 12:34 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a single-vehicle accident after an adult male experienced a medical emergency while driving. The vehicle struck a chain-link fence on Auburn Way North at approximately 40 mph, narrowly avoiding a light post and parked cars. Firefighters evaluated and treated the patient before he was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, February 6th at 7:17 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male found unconscious by his coworkers, who were performing CPR upon arrival. Firefighters took over resuscitation efforts and, alongside King County Medic One paramedics, provided advanced life support. The patient regained a heart rhythm and consciousness in the field but required further medical care. He was transported to a local hospital by King County Medic One.
- MVA with Diesel Spill: (Auburn) On Friday, February 7th at 2:56 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an injury accident involving a semi-truck and other vehicles. The call was upgraded to a hazardous materials response due to a punctured diesel saddle tank on the semi. Firefighters contained the spill using absorbent, focusing on protecting a storm drain and the surrounding area, while also providing patient care and managing traffic. The scene was turned over to Auburn Police and the City of Auburn Streets and Stormwater Department while awaiting the Department of Ecology’s response.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, February 9th at 12:21 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident on West Valley Highway south of SR 18. Crews arrived to find a head-on collision involving two vehicles with moderate damage. Firefighters provided care to three patients, transporting one male to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.
