VRFA Blotter: Choking, illegal burn, car accident, run over by motorcycle & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Feb. 17–Feb. 23, 2025:

  • Aid Call: (Lea Hill) On Monday, February 17th at 10:45 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing severe side pain. Firefighters treated the patient on scene before she was transported to Valley Medical Center for further care.
  • Aid Call: (Lakeland Hills) On Tuesday, February 18th at 2:51 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an elderly female who was choking. Firefighters assisted the patient in clearing the obstruction, eliminating the choking hazard. After evaluation and treatment, the patient declined transport.
  • Illegal Burn: (Auburn) On Wednesday, February 19th at 1:12 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a homeowner burning miscellaneous debris in their backyard, creating foul-smelling, lingering smoke. Firefighters arrived to find a small fire consisting of trash, rubbish, and construction materials. The homeowner was educated on allowable burning practices, and the fire was extinguished and overhauled without issue.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, February 20th at 8:15 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing seizures. Firefighters evaluated and stabilized the patient on scene before transporting her to a local hospital for further care.
  • Car Accident: (Auburn) On Friday, February 21st at 8:30 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a car wedged under a semi-trailer. Firefighters arrived to find the semi-truck blocking northbound lanes with a passenger vehicle trapped beneath it. All occupants were out of their vehicles and declined aid. Fire units remained on scene for safety while Auburn Police investigated and tow services removed the car.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, February 22nd at 12:00 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who suffered multiple injuries after being run over by motorcycles. The man fell off of his motorcycle and was struck by a group of fellow riders. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics treated the patient on scene before he was transported to Harborview Medical Center for further care.
  • Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Sunday, February 23rd at 10:39 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident with injuries. Firefighters treated one patient with minor injuries on scene before transporting them to MultiCare Covington Medical Center for further evaluation.
