Visitors will have an opportunity to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary and honor U.S. service members during a special quilt exhibit at Neely Mansion in Auburn on Saturday, June 13.
The event will feature displays by Covington Quilters and Mount Rainier Quilts of Valor, with collections recognizing military service and the nation’s heritage.
The quilts will be exhibited throughout the historic mansion from Noon to 4 p.m.
Organizers said Quilts of Valor are handmade quilts presented to U.S. service members and veterans as a way to recognize their service while offering comfort and healing.
Admission to the exhibit is FREE, although donations will be accepted to support the historic site.
Neely Mansion said both quilt collections will remain on display throughout the mansion during the event.
The event will be held at Neely Mansion, 12303 S.E. Auburn Black Diamond Road, east of the Highway 18 Auburn Black Diamond Road exit (map below).
