Green River student will compete in public speaking championship on Saturday, July 22

Green River College currently has the #2 ranked public speaker in the state in Kayanne McNeill, and she will be vying for the state championship on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

Centralia College will be hosting the 4th Annual Statewide Inspirational Speech Championship. This is the state championship for public speaking for the 34 community colleges in Washington. On Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 4 p.m. in TransAlta Commons 105 (at Centralia College), the top five public speakers in the state will deliver 10-15-minute inspirational speeches. A state champion will be crowned around 5:30 p.m.

McNeill will be representing Green River College. She is currently ranked as the #2 public speaker in the state. The other four students who made it into the top five are: Solstice Black of Whatcom Community College (ranked #1), Jasmine Preslicka of College (ranked #3), Kimm Moore of Bellevue College (ranked #4), and Shawnee Munns of Spokane Community College (ranked #5).

There will be free food and drink during the 15-minute intermission, and there is no charge for admission.
