The Auburn School District Board of Directors appointed Laura Theimer as the newest ASD director. Theimer replaces Anne Baunach who resigned from her district four position in July. She will serve the remainder of Baunach’s term, through 2019 when she is eligible to run for the position.
Theimer has served in a variety of volunteer roles throughout the community. She has been the president of the Auburn Public Schools Foundation and the Auburn Downtown Association. She also has been involved in PTA at the school and regional level, served on the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce and several ASD committees. She has lived in Auburn for 15 years. Her two daughters are in college and both graduated from Auburn Riverside.
ASD Board President Ray Vefik said, “With Laura’s vast experience and involvement in our schools and community, she will be able to hit the ground running providing the leadership and assistance to Auburn School District students, staff and patrons.”
Theimer was sworn in during the Auguest 27th board meeting.
