At the March 12th School Board meeting the Auburn School District Board of Directors recognized fifth grader Angelina Vacca as the outstanding student of the month. Teacher Marla King was recognized as the outstanding staff member of the month.
Angelina Vacca – Outstanding Student of the Month
Vacca has attended Arthur Jacobsen since kindergarten and is an exemplary student. She plays in the orchestra, serves on student council, is in Honor Society and participates in art club.
Teacher Jessica Mack said, “She is compassionate towards others and has a bright future ahead of her doing whatever she puts her mind to.”
Marla King – Outstanding Staff Member of the Month
Currently a second grade teacher at Lakeland Hills Elementary, King has spent her entire 22-year teaching career in the Auburn School District. She has a knack for connecting with and engaging students. She said, “Teaching is fun. I just like hanging out with the kids.”
Lakeland Hills Principal Colleen Barlow said, “Marla is relentless when it comes to student success.”
