Steve Allen Buchanan passed away at the age of 63 on July 23, 2026.
Steve battled congestive heart failure and he fought so hard. He will be deeply missed by his family, neighbors, golf buddies, poker friends, Navy comrades, brothers and sisters at Local 32, and fellow baseball families.
Steve is survived by his wife, Julie; his sons, Cole and Shane; his brother, Ivan; his mother, Carolyn; his acquired children, Derek, Shelby and Bryan; and by his grandson, Barrett. Steve was an amazing father and grandfather–always loving and always involved the boys’ lives.
He was generous, kind and funny. Steve’s smile lit up a room. He was one of a kind.
Steve’s memorial service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery (18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042) on Tuesday, August 11, at 10:00 a.m. An Open House will immediately follow at Steve and Julie’s home (the address will be shared at the memorial service).
