What to Expect at Tuesday’s City Council Meeting

This week’s City Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday instead of the normal Monday, due to the Labor Day Holiday.  The holiday week does not mean the agenda is any less full!

The agenda will begin with two scheduled proclamations and one appointment.  The proclamations are for National Recovery Month and Constitution Week (September 17-23).  Philip Hernandez is being appointed to the Auburn Tourism Board, unless the Council has objections.

Tuesday’s agenda has one public hearing, for a  franchise agreement with New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC.   Those with input on this matter have an opportunity to speak during this time.  After the public hearing, anyone wishing to speak on general matters related to the city can come forward to be heard.

After the finance committee report is given and the consent agenda is voted on, the council will vote on the three Resolutions before them:

Resolution No. 5447
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, related to forfeited property; declaring forfeited real property as surplus, and authorizing the Mayor to negotiate and execute agreements

Resolution No. 5451
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, setting a public hearing to consider the vacation of right-of-way of 130th Avenue SE, between SE 304th Street and SE 302nd Place, within the City of Auburn, Washington

Resolution No. 5453
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, authorizing the Mayor to negotiate and execute agreements related to the Auburn Consolidated Resource Center

The recommended action on all three of these Resolutions is adoption.

The city council meeting begins at 7pm and is held in the City Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.  All city council meetings and study sessions are live-streamed and aired on Comcast Channel 21 for those who can not make it in person.
