Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Sept. 2–Sept. 8, 2024:
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, September 2nd, at 9:10 a.m., VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to an adult male experiencing chest pain. Firefighters and paramedics evaluated and treated the patient on scene before he was transported to a local hospital for further care.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, September 3rd, at 9:28 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an elderly male experiencing chest pain. After evaluating the patient, firefighters arranged for him to be transported by private ambulance to the VA hospital for further examination of an injury sustained while performing vehicle maintenance.
- Vehicle Fire: (Auburn) On Wednesday, September 4th, at 4:30 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a vehicle that collided with a transformer box and caught fire. Crews arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, with the impact pushing the transformer box several feet from its base near a 5-story apartment building. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire, preventing further damage. Puget Sound Energy was called to handle the power emergency. Auburn Police and a VRFA fire investigator worked on determining the cause and origin of the crash.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, September 4th, at 7:12 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male experiencing shortness of breath. On scene, they treated the patient, who was in end-stage cancer, and assisted the family with navigating hospice care. The patient was stabilized with help from a hospice nurse over the phone, and the family declined hospital transport.
- CPR: (Auburn) On Thursday, September 5th, at 8:40 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male in cardiac arrest. Firefighters and King County paramedics provided CPR and advanced life support measures. The patient was successfully revived and transported to a local emergency room for further life-saving care.
- Stabbing: (Enumclaw) On Saturday, September 7th, VRFA firefighters responded to assist Mountain View Fire and Rescue and Enumclaw Fire with a reported double stabbing. Upon arrival, they found one stabbing victim and another patient who had lost consciousness after being assaulted. Three additional patients had minor injuries. VRFA crews established command, assisted King County Medic One paramedics with patient care, and coordinated the airlift of two critically injured patients.
- Gunshot: (Auburn) On Sunday, September 8th, at 1:57 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a male with multiple gunshot wounds. The patient was treated on scene by VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics, then flown to Harborview Medical Center via Airlift Northwest.
