Auburn Police arrested a 33-year-old man wanted on six felony warrants after receiving a tip from Crime Stoppers, the department announced.
The arrest took place Sept. 23, when officers located the suspect, who was wanted in six different counties.
According to police, the charges included motor vehicle theft, identity theft and organized retail theft.
When officers attempted to take him into custody, the man initially claimed a medical issue in an effort to avoid arrest. Police said officers stayed with him for several hours until he was medically cleared and booked into jail without further incident.
“The Auburn Police Department appreciates the willingness of the public to partner with law enforcement to effectively resolve community safety concerns,” police said in a statement. “The partnership between the Auburn Police Department and the community is critical in solving cases and getting repeat offenders off the streets.”
