UPDATE JULY 1, 2023: A note from Auburn Examiner Founder Elizabeth Miller:
Well, that didn’t take long now did it? Yep, I’m back. Sort of, but not really. Let me explain.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I have second guessed myself since closing the Auburn Examiner. I said I would miss it, didn’t I? While I do, Unfortunately, the reasons I needed to close it remain.
However, when I launched the AE it was because Auburn deserves a quality local news source it can trust. That also has not changed.
Conundrum, I know.
Thankfully I was not in a quandary for long. I have known for years who I’d want to run the Auburn Examiner if I couldn’t. I was reminded of this recently and well folks, I can’t – so they are.
I am happy and proud to share that the Auburn Examiner will remain an independent news outlet within the locally-owned, family run, South King Media network.
Just as with IloveKent.net, they will maintain the integrity of what I wanted for the Auburn Examiner. I have every faith Scott and Theresa will do right by me, the Auburn Examiner, and Auburn.
Thank you again. Take care of and be kind to yourself and each other.
– Elizabeth Miller
