Construction on the Lea Hill bridge is scheduled to begin today, Monday, March 28. Alternate routes are highly recommended during this period as delays should be expected in both directions. Expected work times are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Pedestrian access will be accommodated through the work zone. Access to businesses and residences will remain open during construction.
The work on Lea Hill Bridge is anticipated to be completed end of May 2022. There may be times throughout construction when only one lane is open for both lanes of traffic with flagger-controlled alternating traffic. Again, delays are expected and alternate routes should be taken.
This is a major route for emergency vehicles to reach Lea Hill. Please move over for all emergency vehicles responding to a call.
Area residents should also be aware of noise caused by construction work.
