Traffic Alert: Lea Hill Bridge Construction to Begin Monday

Alternate routes are highly recommended during this period as delays should be expected in both directions. Expected work times are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Pedestrian access will be accommodated through the work zone. Access to businesses and residences will remain open during construction.

The work on Lea Hill Bridge is anticipated to be completed end of May 2022. There may be times throughout construction when only one lane is open for both lanes of traffic with flagger-controlled alternating traffic. Again, delays are expected and alternate routes should be taken.

This is a major route for emergency vehicles to reach Lea Hill. Please move over for all emergency vehicles responding to a call.

Impacts to Other Roads

For those who do not frequent the Lea Hill bridge, please anticipate construction-related traffic and delays to impact nearby roads. Those familiar with rush hour traffic at the M St NE/8th St NE intersection know this intersection is likely to be affected by any bridge delays. Other roads that may be affected:

Harvey Rd
8th St NE
M St NE
R St NE
104th Ave SE
Green River Blvd

Residents and guests of the following complexes should be aware of and prepare for any construction-related traffic:

Neely Station Apartments
Riverside Village Apartments
Riverfront Apartments

This type of work is highly weather dependent, which may require longer than anticipated. Construction may also be re-scheduled without notice.
