Juneteenth – also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day – holds deep meaning for all Americans. It represents the long-awaited realization of freedom and justice. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved individuals were now free. This proclamation, made two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation, liberated countless lives and ignited a flame of hope and resilience.
“Celebrate this momentous occasion alongside friends, family, coworkers, and community members,” organizers said.
Juneteenth Celebration will be June 23
