Auburn Police are reporting that four juveniles were taken into custody on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 after allegedly committing an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven on Auburn Way N.
Police said the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. when the juveniles – three of whom were armed – reportedly stole cash from the store’s register and from two patrons inside. They then fled the scene in a stolen Hyundai Elantra.
The stolen cash included a tracker, allowing the Kent Police Department to initiate a pursuit as the suspects drove into Kent. Although Kent officers temporarily lost sight of the vehicle, the search continued with assistance from the Tukwila Police Department, King County Sheriff’s Office, Seattle Police Department, Des Moines Police Department, and additional Kent units.
The tracker enabled law enforcement to quickly relocate the suspects. The vehicle eventually stopped, and the suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended without incident. All four suspects were arrested, and no injuries were reported.
The juveniles are now in custody as the investigation continues.
