The City of Auburn’s Emergency Management Division offers free CERT Training! CERT training is comprised of 24+ hours of classroom education and hands-on practice in topics including disaster preparedness, emergency management, fire safety/suppression, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster communication, disaster psychology, and all-hazards identification and awareness, including terrorism. Basic safety equipment is provided.
Students are required to provide minimal materials, such as sturdy shoes and work gloves. The first 2019 training is coming up in March. There are 4 opportunities total in 2019 to take this training!
Upcoming CERT Classes
(The class is free, but pre-registration is required)
2019 CERT Schedule:
- Class #51: This class will be held Tuesday and Thursday mornings (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM) throughout March. The dates are March 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28 (which will be held 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
- Class #52: This class will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM in April and May. The dates are April 16, 23, 30; May 7, 14, 21. There will also be two Saturday morning drills that will be held from 8:00 AM – Noon on May 4, and May 25.
- Class #53: This class will be held 3 consecutive days in August; Wednesday (14th), Thursday (15th), and Friday (16th). Each day will be held 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Class #54: This class will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM in October and November. The dates are September 24, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. There will also be two Saturday morning drills that will be held from 8:00 AM – Noon on October 12 and November 2.
