Auburn Resident Reappointed to WaterWorks Grant Ranking Committee

The Metropolitan King County Council on Tuesday confirmed the reappointment of Bob Elwell to the King County WaterWorks Grant Ranking Committee as the Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee, City of Auburn representative.

“Bob has been an asset to the King County WaterWorks Grant Ranking Committee since he was first appointed in 2019,” said Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer. “His experience with the city of Auburn and the MWPAAC has provided a valuable and needed perspective in deciding how to award grants that aim to improve water quality in King County.”

Elwell has been employed as a sewer utility engineer for the city of Auburn since 2007 and is a member of the Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee (MWPAAC), which advises the Council and Executive on matters related to pollution abatement. He resides in District 7, which is represented by von Reichbauer on the King County Council.

Elwell’s appointment is for a three-year term expiring on September 30, 2023. The WaterWorks Grant Ranking Committee provides funding for projects that improve water quality in the service area for King County’s regional wastewater system. This grant program complements the water quality mission of the Wastewater Treatment Division.
