Auburn Police arrest suspects, seize large cache of drugs and weapons

Auburn Police Officer Korey Williams, during a proactive patrol near the 200 block of 37th Street SE (map below) at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024, located a stolen vehicle, leading to the arrest of two occupants for possession of it.

Officer Williams, with assistance from Officers Bryce Barager, Jesse Hull, and Jesus Moreno, observed what appeared to be a firearm inside the recovered vehicle. Both suspects refused consent to search, prompting the impoundment of the vehicle pending a search warrant.

Detective Derek Morse obtained a search warrant, and with Detectives Mike McNabb and Alyssa Slate, discovered a substantial amount of evidence inside the vehicle, including:

  • 7 Firearms
  • 164.9 grams of Marijuana
  • 400 Fentanyl Pills
  • 6.3 grams of Cocaine
  • 172.6 grams of Psychoactive Mushrooms
  • 150.1 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 66.1 grams of Fentanyl Powder
  • 16.1 grams of Heroin

The primary suspect, with a significant criminal history and currently on federal probation for prior drug and weapon convictions, now faces additional charges.

“Due to the outstanding work by the involved officers and detectives, the suspect is facing additional federal charges,” police said.
