Both the driver and a passenger in the truck were able to exit safely before the southbound train collided with the vehicle, officials said.

The train, carrying 157 passengers, sustained no reported injuries.

The collision caused a temporary closure of the southbound lane of B Street NW and delays of about 60 minutes for Amtrak trains operating between Seattle and Tacoma.

Local authorities and Amtrak crews are working to clear the scene and restore regular operations.
