Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Jan. 8–Jan. 14, 2024:
Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Monday, January 8th, at 4:21 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection. Crews arrived to find moderate damage to the front end of one vehicle with airbag deployment. Only one occupant from the vehicles involved was injured. The patient was treated on scene with heightened care to stabilize a possible spinal cord injury. The patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by a private ambulance for further treatment.
Zone 3 Rescue for Tree into House: (Federal Way) On Tuesday, January 9th at 00:23 hours, E333 was dispatched to a Zone 3 Technical Rescue for a tree into a house. En route, there were reports of 5 trapped victims at the scene, which was a residential adult family home. On scene, VRFA, South King Fire, and Puget Sound Fire Rescue Technicians stabilized the tree trunks (up to 24″ in diameter). There were three trees. Firefighters then packaged, treated, and extricated five patients. All occupants were successfully rescued from the house, and after an assessment, the trees were left in place. Due to the massive size and technical nature of removing them, an arborist or logger would be necessary.
Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, January 9th at 3:31 p.m., firefighters assisted an adult female complaining of difficulty breathing and vomiting. Firefighters assessed the patient and then transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.
Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Wednesday, January 10th at 12:16 p.m., firefighters responded to a three-vehicle motor vehicle accident. Firefighters evaluated an adult female complaining of left shoulder pain. The patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.
Elevator Rescue: (Auburn) On Friday, January 12th at 9:50 a.m., firefighters responded to an adult male trapped in an elevator. The elevator became stuck between floors and the doors would not open. Firefighters were able to defeat the lock mechanism and open the doors. With assistance, the man was removed from the elevator and was not injured.
Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, January 13th at 8:09 p.m., firefighters responded to an elderly male complaining of GI bleed. Firefighters evaluated the patient, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
Fire Call: (Auburn) On Sunday, January 14th at 5:28 p.m., firefighters responded to a residential fire. The fire was contained to an exterior garage and Tender 334 assisted with tender operations. Firefighters worked side by side with Puget Sound and Mountain View firefighters to successfully extinguish and keep the fire away from the residence.
