VRFA Blotter: Motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle rider rescue, bark fire & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Aug. 18–Aug. 24, 2025:

  • Beauty Bark Fire: (Auburn) On Monday, August 18th at 3:16 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a possible bark fire. Upon arrival, crews found a small smoldering bark fire, which was quickly extinguished. The area was then overhauled to ensure complete extinguishment.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, August 19th at 12:41 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing neck pain after her tracheostomy tube was accidentally removed. The patient was examined on scene before she was transported to Harborview Medical Center by private ambulance for further treatment.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Wednesday, August 20th at 3:59 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a single-vehicle accident. Firefighters evaluated the patient on scene before being transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further treatment.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Thursday, August 21st at 9:19 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an injury accident at the Pacific Raceway facility. Firefighters evaluated an adult male patient, who was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Covington for precautionary evaluation and treatment.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Friday, August 22nd at 2:45 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a telephone pole. Firefighters arrived to find a pickup truck with moderate front-end damage towing a travel trailer. The driver and passenger were out of the vehicle and reported no injuries. The damaged pole was reported to PSE, and APD arrived on scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
  • Technical Rescue: (Black Diamond) On Saturday, August 23rd at 7:45 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded as part of a Zone 3 technical rescue for a rope rescue. VRFA rope technicians rappelled down a steep embankment to assist in rescuing a motorcycle rider who had gone over the edge. After the rescue, the patient was treated on scene and transported by King County Medic One paramedics and Life Flight to Harborview Medical Center for further care.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Sunday, August 24th at 6:20 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision with airbags deployed. Firefighters evaluated an adult female who reported mouth pain from the airbag and stated she had not been wearing a seatbelt. She declined ambulance transport and remained on scene with her mother and Auburn Police.
