VRFA Blotter: gunshot wound, woman run over by own car, jiu-jitsu injury & more

Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Sept. 30–Oct. 6, 2024:

  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, September 30th at 4:20 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a man with a gunshot wound at a bus station. After Auburn Police secured the scene, VRFA firefighters treated the patient. He was transported by private ambulance to a local hospital for additional care.
  • Car vs Pedestrian: (Auburn) On Tuesday, October 1st at 10:00 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to reports of a woman who may have been run over by her own vehicle. Upon arrival, VRFA personnel found the patient semi-ambulatory, stating she had exited her vehicle to open a gate, and while entering the code, the car rolled backward, with the front tire rolling over her. Fortunately, she only sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further evaluation.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Wednesday, October 2nd at 8:04 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing elbow pain. The patient reported sustaining the injury during a Jiu-jitsu practice. Firefighters provided initial treatment, and she was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance for further evaluation.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, October 3rd at 2:46 p.m., VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to an adult male experiencing an overdose. Upon arrival, firefighters found the patient’s family administering CPR. Firefighters moved the patient to the front room for further evaluation. The patient was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for continued care in stable condition.
  • Commercial Fire: (Auburn) On Friday, October 4th at 3:47 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a small fire at a local business. Upon arrival, they found a refrigerator on fire inside the front office. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, but significant smoke had spread to two adjacent businesses. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
  • Aid Call: (Auburn) On Saturday, October 5th at 3:21 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female experiencing difficulty breathing. Firefighters provided treatment on the scene and transported the patient to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident: (Auburn) On Sunday, October 6th at 1:32 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a high-speed, head-on collision on West Valley Highway. Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by firefighters. The patients were stabilized by firefighters for possible injuries. The patients were then transported to a local hospital.
