Teen driver caught speeding at 107mph in 60mph zone on SR 167

A Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper recently pulled over a 16-year-old driver for traveling 107mph in a designated 60mph zone, on northbound SR 167 near 15th Street NW in Auburn (map below).

Trooper Rick Johnson Tweeted that when asked why they were speeding, the driver stated they had just gotten the car back and was “testing it.”

This speed greatly exceeded the posted limit, posing a potential danger to both the driver and other road users.
