Ongoing Dangerous Street Racing in Auburn Causes Weekend Road Closures

In a proactive measure to address safety concerns over the increased incidents of illegal street racing in Auburn, 15th ST SW will be closed between W Valley HWY and Outlet Collection Way between the hours of 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM beginning Friday, January 15, and running through Sunday, January 17. Additional closures may take place in areas known for illegal racing.

The Auburn Police Department will have additional officers working this weekend focusing on traffic enforcement. While we always want you to drive safe and obey all traffic laws, remember that there will be emphasis units focusing on traffic violations this weekend.

Street racing is an ongoing challenge in our community that presents public safety concerns and regularly disrupts the lawful flow of traffic. An effective tool in combating this issue includes eliminating the spaces used for this dangerous and illegal activity. We appreciate your understanding and patience while we work to find ways to address this public safety concern.
