Motorcyclist Killed in Auburn Crash; Driver Arrested for DUI

King County Sheriff’s Deputies and South King Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a car vs motorcycle collision just after 11:00 am Monday. According to witnesses, a Subaru collided with a motorcycle in the 32100 block of S Peasley Canyon Road.

The King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the motorcyclist, Douglas Lewis (63) of Auburn, died at the scene.

According to witnesses of the crash, the driver of the Subaru was passing in a no-passing lane. Where the driver went into the oncoming lane was a blind corner.  One witness told deputies the driver was driving much faster than the posted speed limit.

A post made on the King County Sheriff’s Facebook page states “the Subaru driver, a 60-year-old female, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of DUI. A search warrant for blood was completed and after going to a nearby hospital she was later booked into the King County Jail on investigation of Vehicular Homicide.”

King County MARR Detectives are investigating.
