Everyone making less than $75K per year will receive a COVID relief check in the coming months. I’m retired and a bit worried about my future. I’m also blessed. I have food to eat and a place to live. Many in our community are not so lucky. Would I like a $600 relief check? Absolutely! But do I need it? No. There are men, women, and families in Auburn who need it much, much more. If you too feel blessed, please join me in a pledge to give some or all of your relief check to a food bank, a homeless shelter, or another organization that helps our neighbors and strengthens our community.

I think Steven’s idea is a good one. I would add that if you want to help the local economy, you also drop some purchases on small businesses in town, (not the chain outlets, the ones owned by people in your neighborhood) to help them stay afloat.
