The Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department is excited to announce the Summer Sounds & Cinema Series 2019 line-up. The combination of entertainment and movies will ensure these Friday nights in Auburn are blockbuster evenings.
The first event will be held at Lea Hill Park, 31693 124th Ave SE on Friday, July 26 at 7:00pm. Crème Tangerine, Seattle’s premier Beatles tribute band will rock the stage starting at 7:00pm! The 90-minute concert will be followed by a screening of the popular Incredibles 2 (PG) – everyone’s favorite hero family!!
The City of Auburn will also be offering inflatable rides. Featured at the event is an ArtRageous hands-on art activity. Artist Brian Lane will lead participants in superhero printmaking and button making. Come hungry, as Stacks Food Truck will be at the event selling a variety of their delicious burgers, fries, and drinks, as well as, Tastyz who will be serving kettle corn, shave ice and more. A big thank you to King County Parks for sponsoring this outdoor concert and movie night!
The next concert and movie event moves to Sunset Park, 1420 69th Street SE on Friday, August 2 at 7:00pm, with entertainment provided by The Marlin James Band, playing country favorites. Following the 90-minute concert is a screening of Ralph Breaks the Internet (PG), an adventure of two friends traveling the internet!
The City of Auburn will also be offering inflatable rides and a movie-inspired stamping and drawing ArtRageous hands-on art activity, led by artist Ann Marie Natali. Bring your appetite as Arnold’s Happy Days’ Food Truck will be on-site selling a variety of burgers, salads, and beverages, as well as, the Auburn Youth Council with their sale of hot dogs, chips, popcorn, drinks, and other treats. On Friday, August 9, the final concert and movie of the season will be held at Les Gove Park, 910 Ninth Street SE. Entertainment will begin at 6:00pm leading off with New Yorker and master children’s musician, Joanie Leeds. Joanie’s 40-minute performance will be followed by Nate Botsford, playing country rock! Everyone’s favorite alien movie, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (PG), will be shown at dusk. Featured at the event are inflatable rides and an ArtRageous hands-on art activity. This event is coupled with the Almost 5K Poker Fun Run. This event will also offer food vendor options.
Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets for a refreshing evening under the stars!
