BritCon is coming to Auburn on Sunday, Aug. 4

BritCon is back for a single-day event on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024 at the Auburn Community and Event Center.

BritCon is a British Science Fiction and Fantasy convention aimed at fans of British movies and TV shows, graphic novels, comic books, comedy, culture and more.

“Join us for panels, games, tea, film festival, food, and more!”

This event will be held from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Cost is $35 for Adults and $25 for Youth (10-17), and free for kids up to 9.

Featuring Special Guest Annette Badland
Annette Badland is an English actress known for a wide range of roles on TV, radio and film. In British Sci Fi circles, she is known for her role in Doctor Who as recurring villain Blon Fel-Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen a.k.a. “Margaret Blaine” in 2005. She also played Ursula Crowe in children’s science fiction/fantasy series Wizards vs. Aliens (2012).

Also in 2005, she had a small role in the Johnny Depp/Tim Burton version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

More recently, and arguably what she is best known for, are her roles as Mae, the bar keep in Ted Lasso (2020-2023), and the coroner Fleur Perkins in more recent episodes of the long-running Midsomer Murders (2018-2023)
