Auburn’s Remembrance Ceremony to honor memory of those lost in war will be Saturday, Nov. 11

Honoring the lasting memory of those who served in war and gave their lives for peace, the annual Veterans Remembrance Ceremony and Lighting of the Flame will be held at Auburn’s Veterans Memorial Park, specifically at the Veterans Memorial, located at 411 E Street NE, on Saturday Nov. 11, 2023 from 9:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.

The ceremony takes place prior to Auburn’s 58th annual Veterans Parade, which will begin at 11 a.m.

The half-hour ceremony, presented by the American Legion – Auburn Post #78, with the help of the Auburn VFW Post 1741, the Muckleshoot Tribe and the City of Auburn, includes patriotic music, an honor guard, and a 21-gun salute.

This year’s ceremony will also include a reading from Auburn’s Poet Laureate, James Rodgers.

The Auburn Mountainview High School Band, led by Derek Pyle will perform ‘The Star Spangled Banner’.
