On Monday, August 19 at 6:30 a.m., redecking work will begin on the Overflow Channel Bridge #3217. The bridge is located on Central Avenue S, north of S. 277th Street, near Kent and Auburn. Construction will occur on the northbound lanes before switching to the southbound lanes.
Although the work is planned for weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., conditions may require crews to work on Saturday, August 24 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well. If Saturday work is required, notice will be posted on Twitter. On Wednesday, August 21, and Monday, August 26, the bridge may need to be completely closed to traffic intermittently for up to a half-hour at a time.
The bridge is anticipated to reopen on Friday, August 30 at 5 p.m. The work is weather dependent.
