A pursuit ended in a single rollover accident on Auburn Way N Wednesday afternoon. The driver fled from Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies when they attempted to make an arrest.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) “deputies attempted to arrest a man in Auburn who had two felony arrest warrants for domestic violence assault near the Muckleshoot Casino. As soon as the suspect saw deputies, he took off in his white sedan.”
The sedan traveled north on Auburn Way S through Auburn. The PCSD states the subject’s vehicle “quickly ended up with multiple flat tires and he lost control.”
The sedan rolled onto its side, coming to rest on its side in front of the Cash America Pawn on Auburn Way N (2236 Auburn Way N Auburn, WA). Pursuing deputies extinguishing the resulting fire and pulled the male from the vehicle.
Valley Regional Fire Authority and King County Medic One were dispatched to the collision. In a tweet, VRFA stated, “the patient was transported to Harborview by King County Medics with serious injuries.”
There were no other injuries.
The PCSD has been looking for this subject since April 12th according to PCSD Sgt. Darren Moss. A release published on the PCSD Facebook page states “This is the 3rd time in two months that the 40-year-old suspect has run from deputies as they attempted to arrest him for his warrants.”
There have been questions regarding the holes in the back window. These are from baton strikes when deputies were removing the subject from the vehicle.
