What’s in a food box?
This varies by area depending on each food bank partner, though general food boxes will include shelf-stable foods and some produce. This may include canned meals, canned or fresh fruits, and veggies, pasta, and other miscellaneous items. We are currently unable to meet individual allergy and dietary needs.
What is the food delivery process?
In South King County, you will receive a weekly food box delivery through August 30th on a set weekday (based on the local food bank). DoorDash drivers will do no-contact deliveries, and you will receive a text once your food box is delivered. You can always opt-out or skip a delivery if needed.
Where is this service available?
Right now, we are able to deliver within Auburn, Burien, Des Moines, Federal Way, Renton, SeaTac, and Tukwila. If you live elsewhere in South King County, please still request a delivery expressing interest, and we will contact you as soon as we have found food partner to serve your address. If you live in Seattle, North King County, or East King County, please sign up for our home delivery service in partnership with Food Lifeline here: https://bit.ly/foodbankorder.
What else should I know?
The information you provide is completely secure and will not be shared with anyone outside of the delivery process. If you do not feel comfortable or are unable to provide a personal home address for delivery, please feel welcome to provide the address of a local shelter or community-based organization (after gaining permission).
Please note: This resource is intended for and may be the only food solution for many of our most vulnerable community members who have food needs and cannot leave their homes during COVID-19. We are encouraging Folks are encouraged to visit their local food banks if they are able. In addition to food banks, Auburn has a variety of community resources available, such as the REVIVE Cares: Grocery Drive-Thru every Sunday at the Outlet Collection.
