Man, 24, Dies After Being Pulled From Lake Tapps

Around 3:45 p.m. today,Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Deputies with the Marine Services Unit, East Pierce Fire and Rescue, Bonney Lake Police, and the Pierce County Metro Dive Team were dispatched to Lake Tapps park for a reported missing swimmer.

When crews arrived, they immediately deployed rescue boats and swimmers into the water near where the missing swimmer was last seen.

At 4:32 p.m., rescue divers located a 24 year old male about 20 feet underwater.

That male was brought to shore and immediately transported by medics to an area hospital with CPR in progress.

PCSD has confirmed the male died at the hospital.
