Auburn Police seize drugs, cash, and firearm in fentanyl trafficking investigation

Auburn Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested a suspected drug trafficker and seized a significant amount of illegal drugs, cash, and a firearm during a warrant search on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, police announced.

The investigation, which targeted fentanyl distribution and illegal firearm possession, culminated in a raid conducted with assistance from the Valley SWAT Team.

According to Auburn Police, SIU investigators worked over several weeks to gather evidence establishing probable cause for the arrest.

A judge approved the search warrant, which police executed on Thursday, yielding the following items:

  • $8,688.50 in cash
  • 5.1 pounds of fentanyl
  • 57 grams of methamphetamine
  • 8 grams of cocaine
  • One untraceable “ghost” gun

The operation marks a successful outcome for Auburn PD’s SIU, which expressed appreciation for the support from the Valley SWAT Team in safely executing the search.

“A job well done by Auburn PD’s SIU team,” police said.
