Auburn Police have posted an alert requesting assistance in identifying locating a male related to a shooting that occurred Monday, March 9th, around 5:15 pm. The incident occurred in the 500 block of 5th ST SE.
“The suspect was in the roadway, and when the victim yelled at him, he pulled out the gun and fired a round at the driver’s door,” said Auburn Police Commander Mike Hirman. There were no injuries.
According to Hirman, the individual in the photo is wanted for Assault in the first degree.
After his vehicle was shot, the victim chased the individual in his car and took a video of him. The victim posted online that though he was able to capture the person’s image, “I regret it. I should of called the cops as soon as it happened. I wasn’t thinking.”

“Thanks to help from the public…” etc. This tells you the cops try their best, but sometimes they DO need your help. “Help me, help YOU,” as Tom Cruise once said in the famous film. Auburn has recently been deluged by the homeless, by druggies, by thieves. Not all homeless are druggies and thieves, but they do often come in that combination, unfortunately. As a citizen of this city, it is your responsibility to report. Makes you and your family safer, and easier for the cops to clean up this town.
