Auburn police are searching for the driver and vehicle in connection to a hit-and-run that left a 61-year-old woman dead just after 5:00 am Friday morning.
According to Auburn Police Commander Mike Hirman the woman was walking across C ST SW in the 2600 Block, near the Safeway Distribution plant when she was struck in the roadway.
“A light-colored sedan traveling northbound struck [the woman]. She died instantly and the car failed to stop,” said Hirman.

Update: Traffic Investigators are still looking for any information to identify the person(s) in the fleeing vehicle. At this time the fleeing vehicle is described only as a dark to black in color, smaller sedan with obvious damage to the front left corner.

Want to find this guy? I sure would. There are speeders all over Auburn, and now we have a victim, a 61-year-old woman.
Watch every car you see. Check out your neighbor’s car. Look at cars around you in the parking lot. Light-colored sedan could be almost any car, but when you run someone over, it leaves body damage. Body shops are probably already on the alert. The cops do that on hit and runs. They have an advantage here because fewer cars are on the streets due to the pandemic. This person will be caught. He should just get himself a lawyer who could ensure he/she doesn’t receive more punishment for this than they deserve, and turn themselves in to the police.
