The following is the Auburn police blotter and references criminal acts that may upset some readers.
From the Auburn Police Department’s Public Information Log for July 1, 2023:
- A live grenade was found in a closet in a home at around 8:30 a.m. The previous renter said the explosive belonged to their late spouse, who “was involved in crime.” FWPD BDU and JBLM were called to handle the explosive. An officer reported the incident and an information only report will be completed later.
- A dead body was discovered near the 2700 block of M ST SE around 10 a.m. An officer investigated the death and recorded it on video.
- A shooting with a firearm and vandalism occurred in the 4500 block of Kennedy AVE SE around 5:45 a.m. An officer responded to the scene and recorded the incident on video.
- A warrant arrest was made in the 2400 block of Auburn Way S around 8:15 a.m. An officer conducted the arrest and recorded it on video.
- An order violation and a mental complaint were reported in the 4700 block of Auburn Way N around 12:45 p.m. An officer handled the case and recorded it on video.
- A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 3100 block of Auburn Way N around 1 p.m. The responding officer was not specified.
