Here are 911 Calls for Service responded to by the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) from Jan. 1–Jan. 7, 2023:
- Obvious death: (Auburn) On Monday, January 1st, at 7:09 pm, VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a deceased male. Firefighters determined the middle-aged male had signs that were incompatible with life. The scene was turned over to Auburn Police for further investigation.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Monday, January 1st, at 2:58 pm, VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who was possibly having a cerebral vascular accident. Firefighters quickly evaluated and transported the patient to a local hospital for further definitive care.
- Rubbish Fire: (Pacific) On Tuesday, January 2nd, at 12:32 p.m., VRFA firefighters were called to investigate an unknown type of fire in a parking lot. Firefighters arrived to find discarded paper and boxes burning in an open gravel parking lot. Firefighters extinguished the fire and returned in-service.
- Aid Call: (Lea Hill) On Wednesday, January 3rd, at 5:18 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an ill male. Firefighters arrived to find the man was suffering from an ongoing infection and was very sick. The patient was in stable condition but in need of further medical care and evaluation in a hospital setting. The patient was taken to a local area hospital by a private ambulance service.
- Aid Call: (Auburn) On Thursday, January 4th, at 1:24 pm, VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who overdosed on an unknown substance. Firefighters treated the patient on the scene. He was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.
- Vehicle Passenger Fire: (Auburn) On Friday, January 5th, at 4:31 pm, VRFA firefighters were dispatched to a car on SR 18 that was on fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a fully involved vehicle fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using water, foam, and a Dry Chem Extinguisher. Everyone made it out of the car, and there were no injuries.
- Automatic Fire Alarm: (Auburn) On Saturday, January 6th at 4:47 pm, VRFA firefighters responded to a residence for the smell of smoke in the upstairs. After investigating the home, E334 turned off the power and gas to the furnace and informed the resident to contact the appropriate repair contractors.
- Residential Fire: (Auburn) On Sunday, January 7th, at 2:11 pm, VRFA firefighters responded to a residential fire. On arrival, firefighters found a fully involved single-story house fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using handlines, vertically ventilated the structure, and overhauled and salvaged personal items for the homeowner. The Fire Marshall Office investigated the fire.
