This summer Bigfoot Quilts is taking part in Sew Days, a worldwide program to share the fun of sewing. People of all skill levels are welcome to attend: beginners, experienced sewers, or those who haven’t sewn in years.

The program consists of six weekly classes, beginning the week of July 15 and finishing the week of Aug. 19. At Bigfoot Quilts, the classes will take place on Mondays at 1 pm. Each class is 2 ½ hours long at a cost of only $5 each per person.

“Sew Days is a great time for anyone to check out the fun of sewing in a friendly setting at a very low cost,” says Jessie Davis, owner of Bigfoot Quilts. “We’re encouraging friends to enjoy these classes together and socialize in a sewing atmosphere. Everyone, even beginners, will be able to complete a project in class to put to use immediately or use for gift-giving.”

Each class is independent of the others, so participants can attend all six, or pick and choose to fit their schedule. Attendance at Week 1 is not required to attend the other five. A different project will be presented each week:

Week 1 – Easy mitered placematbigfoot quilts, big foot quilts, auburn wa quilt shop, sew days auburn, summer sew days, Bigfoot quilts auburn, bigfoot quilts auburn wa, learn to sew at bigfoot quilts
Week 2 – Half & half apron
Week 3 – Table runner
Week 4 – Catch-all
Week 5 – Easy backpack
Week 6 – Trendy tote

The goal of the Sew Days program is to provide a lively social atmosphere rather than a formal class setting. “It’s summer, so we’re going to keep things light and entertaining while still being educational,” said Davis. “We know that nowadays people can learn just about anything online, but learning sewing while socializing is a lot more fun.”

The projects are kept simple to help ensure that everyone has a good experience. At the same time, each project will teach one basic technique that is easy to master.
