Applications Now Open for Reserved Parking at the Auburn Transit Center

Groups of two or more commuters who regularly drive together to participating park & rides (including the Auburn Transit Center) to catch transit are eligible to apply for carpool parking permits. Permits allow permit holders to park in reserved parking areas on weekdays during the morning rush hour.
Permit costs and eligibility requirements vary depending upon location.

How it Works:

Sound Transit facilities and services are funded by taxes levied on the residents of the Sound Transit Taxing District, which covers urban areas within King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties. In July 2018, the Sound Transit Board of Directors adopted a resolution requiring that parking permits be limited exclusively to District residents.

To determine whether you live within the Sound Transit District, check your vehicle license plate registration invoice to see if you pay taxes for the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority [RTA] (“Sound Transit”).  If you are subject to RTA taxes, based on the address associated with your vehicle registration, then you are eligible for the HOV and SOV permit at selected Sound Transit parking facilities.
