All You Need to Know About This Weekend’s Auburnfest Acitivies!

Auburn’s annual community celebration, Auburnfest, will be held this Saturday, August 10!  The festival will be held at Les Gove Park from 11am-7pm with the Auburn Days Parade along Main Street in downtown Auburn at 11am.  The weather is predicted to be in the low 70’s, so prepare and remember to stay cool!

A Community Festival
Saturday, August 10 | 11am-7pm
Les Gove Park | 910 9th Street SE
This family-oriented festival includes two entertainment stages, food vendors, a craft beer & wine garden, craft and specialty vendors, community and non-profit vendors, and a literary showcase & small press fair. Sponsored in part by Muckleshoot Casino.

Festival Entertainment
The festival’s Main Stage Entertainment includes: Wally & the Beavs (50’s & 60’s Rock ‘n Roll), The Nate Botsford Band (Country Rock), Hook Me Up (Contemporary Jazz), and The Fabulous Murphtones (all the best Rock ‘n Roll).

The Community Stage will feature: Tweenland (Tween Cover Band), Just Plain Folk Band, Ian Dobson’s Pan Leggo (Steel Drum Party), GiggleWorks Magic Show, GiggleWorks Balloons and Rachel & The Rumors. For exact times of each performance, visit www.auburnwa.gov/auburnfest.

Free activities include bocce, face painting, four ArtRageous hands-on art activities, a Makers Space craft, an indoor & outdoor playground, and a spray playground.

Driving Directions & Parking Information
This year Auburnfest is introducing a new paid parking option.  This option benefits the Specialized Recreation Program of Auburn. The paid parking is $5/car, with 100% of the proceeds supporting various specialized recreation programs. There are still lots of free parking options and numerous side streets within walking distance of the park.

Auburn Days Parade

The Auburn Days Parade has been an Auburn tradition for decades and serves as the kick-off to Saturday festival activities. The Auburn Days Parade will feature a variety of drill teams, dancers, one-of-a-kind cars, plus so much more. The parade route travels west along Main St. from E St. NE to A St. NW. The Parade is sponsored in part by Coordinated Care.

Additional AuburnFest Weekend Activities

Almost 5K Poker Fun Run
Friday, August 9
Les Gove Park | 7pm
Register online or by calling 253-931-3043.
A fun night out for the entire family. Participants walk or run five loops on a paved trail in the park, picking up poker cards along the way. Instead of prize awards based on time, prizes will be awarded for the top poker hand in each age category. Registered runners will receive a t-shirt. The run is sponsored in part by Auburn Sports Physical Therapy, ProAmpac and the Auburn Reporter.

During the run, you’ll hear entertainment by Nate Botsford (country rock) and stick around after the run for the movie in the park featuring E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (PG)! And be sure to stop by ahead of time and enjoy the food, craft beer & wine beer garden, free inflatables, and art activity! Les Gove Park, 910 9th ST SE.

Cruise-In at the Market
Sunday, August 11
Les Gove Park | 10am-3pm
A fun cruise-in featuring antique, classic, hot rod, street rod, muscle, and other unique cars. The Cruise In will be held in the grass field adjacent to the Farmers Market at Les Gove park. Check-in begins at 8:00am.
