Almost 5K Poker Fun Run & Walk

The Almost 5K Poker Fun Run & Walk in conjunction with AuburnFest.

We’re not bluffing, we’ve got a fun race coming your way on Friday, August 9 with a 7:00 p.m. start from Les Gove Park. The race will be held just prior to the Summer Sounds & Cinema concert and outdoor movie event at the park. Food options will be available for purchase in the park after the race.

This fun run & walk will utilize the new big trail loop at Les Gove Park. Five loops around is “almost” a 5K (short of a 5K by 1,138 feet). For each lap around the loop, participants will stop, draw a card, and try to get the best poker hand with the five cards drawn. Instead of prize awards based on time, prizes will be awarded for the top poker hand in eight different age categories. Prizes will be award from the stage at 8:30pm.

REGISTRATION FEES
Early Registration Fee (by July 28, 2019) – $15
Registration Fee (July 29 – August 7, 2019) – $18
On-Site Registration Fee – $20 (August 9, 2019 starting at 5:30 PM)

Early registration includes a t-shirt. Only one individual per registration form. Payment must accompany registration. No registration on August 9. T-shirts are not guaranteed for day-of registrants.

RULES OF PARTICIPATION & AWARDS
• Participants must run/walk and complete the course in its entirety to be eligible for awards.
• Participants must select 5 cards total, one upon completion of each large loop at Les Gove Park, to create their final poker hand.
• Strollers are welcome on the course.
• Awards will be distributed to the top poker hands in eight age categories: Child (8 & under); Tween (9-12 yrs.); Teen (13-19 yrs.); Adult I (20-29 yrs.); Adult II (30-39 yrs.); Adult III (40-49 yrs.); Adult IV (50-70 yrs.); Senior (71+ yrs.)
• Awards will be presented at the entertainment stage prior to the start of the movie.
