Below are just a few of the calls the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to for the week of August 17-23, 2020. VRFA firefighters responded to a total of 282 calls for service during this week. 212 were aid calls, 11 were fire calls, and 59 were categorized as other. Other calls include water rescues, HazMat calls, and ladder requests.

Year to Date our Valley Professional Firefighters have responded to a total of 8,273 calls. This is a 3.3% decrease from 2019 (8,554 calls). Total aid calls in 2020 so far are 6,147 (-3.4% compared to 2019’s 6,362). The number of fire calls is down by 12.4%, with 2020 having 262 calls and 2019 having 299. The number of other calls is also down (1.5%), with 2020 currently at 1,864 calls compared to 2019’s 1,893.

VRFA’s Station 31 (1101 D St NE, Auburn, WA 98002) is a drop off location for the Auburn Public School Foundation school supply drive. The VRFA Station will stop collecting on the 27th. ASD returns to school on September 19th.

One of VRFA’s Captain’s and firefighters are currently deployed to the Badger Lake Fire near Cheney in Spokane County. Four of VRFA’s firefighters have been deployed to the LNU Incident in Calistoga (in Napa County).
