In light of having to cancel Auburn’s Petpalooza 2020 and postpone the Dog Trot 3K/5K Fun Run due to COVID-19, we thought holding a virtual Mutt Strut on Saturday, May 16th was a great way to keep us connected, enjoy time with our fur babies and get some exercise. All positives!
PLEASE NOTE – this virtual event is NOT replacing the Dog Trot, which is postponed until
Fall 2020. (date coming soon!)
If you’re interested in participating in this virtual fun run, here’s how it works!
- Participation is FREE! Here is a link to the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/2931151250273153/
- Confirm your attendance in the Virtual Mutt Strut by clicking ‘going’
(if you don’t have Facebook, simply skip this step) - During a time that is convenient to you on Saturday, May 16, walk/run either a 3K (1.86 miles) or a 5K (3.10 miles) with your dog(s). Of course, other pets are welcome!
- After your walk/run, send an email to events@auburnwa.gov. In your email, please include the following details:
- Participant(s) first and last name
- Pet’s name
- Distance participated – 3K or 5K
- Include a photo of you participating, along with a screenshot of your distance or route. (optional)
- During the week of May 18, we will email finisher certificates to all participants that email us.
