Auburn Trojans Trounce Stadium High in Season Opener

Schools throughout the region are back in session this week, and that means fall sports are also kicking off their seasons.

Some kind of impressive: Auburn trounces Stadium (56-8)

Auburn painted a masterpiece of offensive football all over the canvas of Tacoma Stadium’s defense for a 56-8 win in the first game of the season. With 334 total yards (207 passing, 127 rushing), it was clear the Trojans came out to win.

Though neither squad could muster points in the first and third quarters, an impressive 81-yard touchdown run in the second gave fans an idea of the season ahead.

The Trojans play the Mount Tahoma T-Birds in a nonconference game Friday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. in an away game. Mount Tahoma is currently 0-0, playing their first game against Rainier Beach on Saturday, September 4.

Lacey River Ridge Pulls out a win against Fife (14-10)

With little to no wiggle room, Lacey River Ridge nosed past Fife 14-10 during this Washington football game.

Neither squad could muster points in the first and third quarters.

The Fife (WA) varsity football team has a home non-conference game vs. Archbishop Murphy (Everett, WA) on Friday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m.

River Ridge High (Lacey, WA) will play North Creek High (Bothell, WA) in a non-conference away game on Friday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m,

Sumner topples Puyallup Emerald Ridge (62-22)

Sumner offered a menacingly balanced approach while handling Puyallup Emerald Ridge with an all-around effort during this 62-22 victory at Sumner High on September 2 in Washington football action.

Sumner opened with a 14-7 advantage over Puyallup Emerald Ridge through the first quarter. Sumner’s offense stomped on to a 38-14 lead over Puyallup Emerald Ridge at the intermission. The team’s force continued unabated as it carried a 48-22 lead into the fourth quarter.
