Auburn Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in North Auburn

Auburn Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened at the Mallard Pointe apartment complex around 2:30am Monday morning. “Initial reports were that a male had been shot in a vehicle and that he was not breathing,” stated an Auburn Police press release.  The victim has been identified as a 29-year-old male.

According to the release, a citizen on the scene provided aide to the individual until medics arrived.  “As patrol officers and medics arrived, the male was pronounced dead at the scene,” said the release.

Detectives have begun their investigation.  No further information regarding the individual’s identity, a suspect or motive have been released.
