Below are just a few of the calls the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to for the week of October 12-18, 2020. VRFA firefighters responded to a total of 269 calls for service during this week. 182 were aid calls, 10 were fire calls, and 77 were categorized as other. Other calls include water rescues, HazMat calls, and ladder requests.

Year to Date our Valley Professional Firefighters have responded to a total of 10,468 calls. This is a .05% decrease from 2019 (10,518 calls). Total aid calls in 2020 so far are 7,678 (-1.7% compared to 2019’s 7,809). The number of fire calls is up by 3.7%, with 2020 having 366 calls and 2019 having 353. The number of other calls is also up (2.9%), with 2020 currently at 2,424 calls compared to 2019’s 2,356.
