Each year* the City of Auburn celebrates Earth Day with its annual Clean Sweep. The Saturday of service (usually closest to April 22nd) is a day for volunteers to gather and tackle projects to help put a shine on the city for spring.

For this year’s Clean Sweep over 350 volunteers worked across 22 different sites throughout the city, on nearly two dozen projects. Some of the projects included litter pick-up, blackberry removal, park clean-up, and environmental restoration.

Thank you to all who gave their time this weekend to help contribute to making and keeping our city clean and beautiful.

If you’d like to volunteer to give back to the city year-round, you can sign up to adopt a street. Instead of adopting a road (so, babysitting a road?) you can volunteer to do a one-time clean-up. Applications can be submitted online, emailed, or mailed.

One-Time Cleanup

If you have photos from Auburn’s 2021 Clean Sweep you’d like us to publish, please email them to contact@auburnexaminer.com

*We’re ignoring 2020 and you should too.
