AUBURN, Wash. – July 22, 2020 – The City of Auburn has begun accepting applications for the annual Veterans Parade. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, November 7.

With the current pandemic, it’s difficult to know what restrictions, if any, will be in place come November. It is possible that this year’s parade and related activities may look much different than our community is used to. At this time, the City of Auburn has no plans to cancel the parade. There are contingency plans in place for alternate options, if needed.

Registration is now open to participate in the 55th annual Veterans Parade, whether it be held in the traditional format, in a reverse parade option, or held virtually for the first time ever. Registrants are encouraged to register, as normal. With parade registrations in place, the event organizer can more easily transition to an alternate option for celebration, should it be needed. Interested applicants may register on the city’s website at www.auburnwa.gov/vetsday.

Parade applications must be received by October 5 to be considered for participation. Applications will be reviewed after the deadline and entries chosen will receive an official confirmation and complete event information.

The safety of the parade participants and parade spectators are of utmost importance. As the event approaches, the City of Auburn will make any necessary changes to ensure the safety of its participants and spectators. The City of Auburn considers it an honor and privilege to host this event.
